L23 - Office/Shop Recycling Bins

Implementing this symbol means the business/company has two separate bins available or made a dual function bin, one section available for general non-recyclable refuse and the other for all recyclable items.

These bins need to be placed at every office desk to allow staff to separate their rubbish from their recyclables. This can easily be achieved by simply installing a separation into the existing bin. Shops also can do the same. This separation can be installed by anyone and should be made out of a weather-resistant material for hygienic purposes and for better resistance or every week cardboard can be fitted with a precept stock made from old cartons. As recyclables are generally clean they can be removed manually and separated into the conventional recycling bin. Too often recyclables get tossed into the general refuse due to occasional contamination caused by a little food scrap or other materials such as ink cartridges, steel paper clips, food items tissues, etc. If only the cleaners would be instructed to separate the items the problem would be solved, this task is nearly impossible due to the cleaning time available to the cleaners, a business can allow for this item separation to take place, possibly with no further charge if all staff participate and the business is making available two separate bins or containers with a yellow lid for recyclables and red for the general refuse, or by simply printing the download file attached and affixed near the main recycling area or individual bins ready for the cleaners to collect. This is also a good idea for Schools and public areas
